The Barn Readers and Writers
The Barn Readers and Writers Group
Have you ever thought that there's a novel, or a poem or short story inside you that's just begging to be set free? Or maybe you'd enjoy reading established work to others? You may already be published, just starting to write, or simply have the urge to put your thoughts down on paper (or laptop!).
The group meets the 3rd Saturday of every month, upstairs at The Barn from 4pm.
Some of the activites of the group could include:
- Using the time to sit and write, drawing inspiration from this early nineteenth-centry setting
- Read your own work, or established pieces, to others
- Submitting your own work to be critiqued by the group (this may sound scary, but it really can help you develop your skills as a writer)
- Taking part in projects. For example, chronicling the history of The Barn and the Centre from its' beginning in c1810
Membership of the group is free and you will only need to get involved in the things that you want to.
If you're interested in joining us, or know anyone who may be, please contact Barry by e-mail, he will be happy to call you to discuss further.
